2. Waterproofing works by Visco
2.1. Waterproofing for swimming pools and clean water tanks
Swimming pools and clean water tanks require a strict waterproofing solution due to their direct exposure to large volumes of water and high pressure. Visco typically applies an hdpe polymer-cement-based waterproofing membrane, using precise techniques to enhance waterproofing capability, elasticity, and high adhesion to the structure.
The construction process includes the main steps of thoroughly cleaning the surface, followed by applying a waterproofing mortar layer made from a polymer and cement mixture. This membrane creates a solid layer that prevents water from penetrating the concrete structure. For swimming pools, both positive and negative waterproofing techniques can be applied depending on the direction of water infiltration. The waterproofing layers are applied in 2 to 3 layers to achieve optimal effectiveness.
2.2. Waterproofing for bathrooms and balconies
Similarly, areas like bathrooms and balconies, which are frequently exposed to water and moisture, are ideally suited for using a polymer-cement-based waterproofing membrane. Products like SikaTop Seal-107 can withstand high water pressure while offering slight elasticity, protecting surfaces from water leaks and cracking.
The application technique in these areas requires meticulous surface preparation before applying the waterproofing layer. The mixture of the two components, A (liquid) and B (powder), is thoroughly blended and applied using a brush or roller, ensuring that the waterproofing layer firmly adheres to the mortar or concrete surface. This not only ensures waterproofing but also protects the structure from damage caused by carbon dioxide or chemicals.
